Ain't Nobody
Going From 'Nobody' To Somebody In The 1960's South
Based on the true story !
Singing the gospel song, 'Ain't Nobody, Ain't Nobody Gonna Turn Me 'Round', a group of marchers defied authority as they marched over the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Demanding their right to vote, they peacefully marched into an army of state police waiting for them on the other side of the arched bridgeway. This film captures the emotions and hopes of those who had just experienced Bloody Sunday only a few days earlier. Responding to voter rolls that were only 1% black and 99% white, they were determined to show that they too were 'somebody'.
Fast paced, it is the story of how these indivdiuals went from being a 'nobody' to being a 'somebody' in 1960's America. Based on the true story of a white Civil Rights worker, this film shows the stark contrasts of America's South as the rest of the nation looked on. It is a story of struggle and triumph.
